Budapest Sights, Sounds and Hotels

Liberty Square in Budapest was the location of an enormous prison that was built specifically for the taming of rebellious Hungarians, and later government offices, banks and luxurious apartment buildings were erected on the site of its ruins. In the centre of the square a war memorial to the Russian soldiers killed in WWII and who lie buried under the monument, stands to remind us of the horror of that time. The National Bank of Hungary, a dignified and solid building with classic decoration is situated in the square, and the Hungarian Television is now housed in what was the Stock Exchange building.

Budapest attractions are many and compelling. We suggest that you book accommodation in one of the fine Budapest hotels and start planning your trip to Budapest city.
